Eddy Montana: From Broken Legs to Breakthroughs

Eddy Montana recently shared on Facebook a heartfelt and inspiring story from his past, coinciding with the release of his brand-new album titled “On God”.

A Leap of Faith

In 2010, Eddy made a bold decision to leave home without informing his parents. Armed with nothing but his dreams, he set out to carve a path for himself. However, his journey took a devastating turn in 2012 when he returned home with broken legs, a setback that many believed would end his ambitions.

“A lot of people thought I would never walk again,” he recalls. “I struggled every day to make sure my legs were good again because, bro, if I saw a chicken walking that time, omo, I would wish to be that chicken 😂 because I was in a wheelchair.”

A Father’s Blessing

After months of rehabilitation in Gboko, Eddy regained his mobility. With newfound determination, he once again left home, this time with his father’s blessing.

“He called me: He said, ‘I know you are not out there doing bad things but pursuing your dreams.’ I said, ‘YES SIR.’ He said, ‘God bless you.’ I said, ‘Amen 🙏.'”

Breaking into the Industry

Returning to Lagos, Eddy dived headfirst into his dreams. He attended auditions, and in 2017, he landed his first role on national television thanks to Asenime Benjamin, who offered him scripts for the Tinsel TV series.

“Started meeting people and connecting more with people in the industry and was getting more exciting shoots and yoo before I knew it I was in almost all the musical videos and movies and even did Glo commercials, if some of you can remember from 2018 to 2021.”

Eddy’s hard work paid off, and he found himself working with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Olamide, Burna Boy, Beyoncé, Akon, Naira Marley, and Oxlade. He even had roles in movies on Netflix, such as “Smart Money Woman.”

A New Chapter in Music

Now, Eddy is focusing on his music career, promising his fans only the best.

“What I’m saying is that if you got a dream and really want that dream come true, you gotta wake up earlier than everyone. You have to use different ways to be seen, different ways to connect with people in your field. Be humble and loyal. Keep showing up!”
